BRISE SOLEIL / SOLAR SHADING
Multi-Functional
Solar Shading (also known as Brise Soleil), serves multi purposes, it can control the light and heat surrounding a building as well improving its aesthetic profile. The overall appearance it gives is intregral to the architecture of the building and its first impressions.
Whilst Brise Soleil typically provides a shade to sunlight it can also be inversed to deflect light into a building. For example on a car park, a 45° Brise Soleil blade can take light from the edge of the building and direct it onto the floors, and vise versa lights from glaring car headlights can be redirected away from any facing windows of buildings adjacent.
Economical
Solar shading can help to minimise heat build up. It reduces the need for air-conditioning and thereby conserves energy. It improves the working environment whilst at the same time lowering bills.
Comfort
For a working building such as an office block, school or hospital, the optimum summer time working temperature should be approximately 24/30°C. During the hotter summer months solar radiation can increase internal temperatures to as high as 35/40°C. Solar Shading can reduce this. In the cooler months solar shading provides an effective screen from solar glare when the sun angle is lower and tends to shine directly through windows.
Aesthetics
Solar shading can also enhance the appearance of a building by making an architectural feature of its panels. It can mask any unwanted infrastructure and break up or cover large or open areas.
